What is Personizer, and who is the software designed for?

Personizer is a modular HR software solution for small and medium-sized businesses in the DACH region, ideal for teams ranging from 10 to 100 employees. The tool covers the three most important core HR areas: digital time tracking, leave planning, and digital personnel files. Personizer is particularly well-suited for office-based companies in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland that want to digitize their HR processes without a major implementation effort.

Is Personizer compliant with the law? What are the rules regarding mandatory time tracking in Germany?

Yes, Personizer is legally compliant. Since the Federal Labor Court (BAG) ruling in September 2022, employers in Germany have been required to systematically track working hours. Personizer helps you do just that: The software automatically alerts you to violations of the Working Hours Act (ArbZG), calculates overtime correctly, and documents breaks in compliance with the law. All data is stored in compliance with the GDPR on ISO-certified servers in the EU.

How does the DATEV integration work? Does it include eAU retrieval?

Absences, leave, and employee data can be sent directly to the payroll department or the tax advisor. The retrieval of electronic certificates of incapacity for work (eAU) via DATEV is also integrated—retrieval by employers has been mandatory since January 2023 and is fully digital with Personizer.

How much does Personizer cost? Is there a free trial?

Personizer has a modular structure and is billed per employee—with no base fee. With a monthly subscription, time tracking costs €3.70, the vacation planner costs €3.00, and the personnel file costs €1.00 per person per month. With a 24-month contract, prices drop to as low as €0.70 per month. You can try all modules for 14 days free of charge and without a credit card. After that, a permanently free basic package is available.

What integrations does Personizer offer?

Calendars can be synced with Outlook via an iCal feed. There is a direct Slack integration for out-of-office messages. A DATEV interface rounds out the integration options.

Can I use Personizer on my mobile device? Is there an app?

Yes, Personizer is available as an app for iOS and Android. There are also browser extensions for Chrome and Edge, allowing you to clock in and out directly from your browser. This makes Personizer particularly convenient for teams whose members work both in the office and remotely or on the go.

How quickly can I start using Personizer? Do I need training or IT support?

Personizer is cloud-based and ready to use right away without any installation. Setup typically takes less than an hour—no training, no IT project, and no implementation costs. Employees can get started right away after their first login. German-language support is available via chat and email.
